KOM International Names Christian Andrés and Jorge Bernal as Partners of KOM International's Caracas Office
MONTREAL, Quebec, Canada, March 1, 2002 - KOM International Inc., a global leader in supply chain consulting, announced today the appointment of Christian Andrés and Jorge Bernal as Partners, responsible for business operations at the firm's Caracas, Venezuela office.
Mr. Andrés originally joined KOM International in July, 1998, and quickly established himself as a leader in successfully selling and implementing new consulting services to firms throughout the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America. His specialty is distribution center design, with experience in the Grocery, Pharmaceutical, Soft Drinks, Poultry, and other consumer goods industries. Mr. Andrés attends WERC annually and supports the development of logistics in Venezuela through his membership in the Venezuelan Logistics Association (AVELOG).
Mr.
Andrés is a graduate of the IESA MBA program, the most prestigious
Business School in the Andean region. Prior to completing his MBA, Mr. Andrés
obtained his Industrial Engineering degree from the Catholic University of
Venezuela and worked for one year with a large consumer goods company in Venezuela.
Mr. Bernal joined KOM International in November, 2000 as a project manager
and has steadily demonstrated his abilities to manage projects throughout
Latin America. His expertise is in the transportation area, with extensive
experience in developing transportation strategies for companies with hundreds
of trucks on the road in multiple industries.
Prior
to joining KOM International, Mr. Bernal spent 4 years as logistics director
of the largest courier company in Colombia where he was responsible for the
management and leadership of 1,000 people. After receiving his Industrial
Engineering Degree, Mr. Bernal spent 5 years in supply chain optimization
with the largest dairy products distributor in Colombia. During this time,
Mr. Bernal was responsible for managing projects in warehousing and secondary
distribution to improve operations at regional distribution centers.
Mr. Bernal has spoken on purchasing and transportation topics to various industry
groups and is active in promoting the use of new transportation technologies
such as GPS, routing packages and onboard computers.
