KOM International To Present At Expo-Farma, Expo-Análisis, And Cosme-Expo 2002, in Mexico City
MONTREAL, Quebec, Canada, February 7, 2002 - KOM International Inc., a global leader in supply chain consulting, announced today that one of the firm's Senior Partners, Mr. Alan Taliaferro, will be a presenter at the 2002 Expo-Farma, Expo-Análisis, and Cosme-Expo in Mexico City, an important conference for executives in the health care manufacturing and distribution industries. Mr. Taliaferro will present "Successful Implementation of a Crossdocking Strategy for a Pharmaceutical Distribution Company in Mexico" at the conference on March 12th at 4:30 p.m.
Mr.
Taliaferro's presentation will review how one of Mexico's most important pharmaceutical
distribution companies was able to achieve $U.S. 5.3 million in annual savings,
with a $1.4 million capital investment, a 3 month return on investment. The
savings resulted from a 40% reduction in warehouse operating costs, 30% reduction
in transportation costs, 30% reduction in inventory, and 70% reduction in
real estate investments. Through the use of logistics technologies including
a new warehouse management system and a dynamic routing system, the company
has significantly improved service levels through improved fill rates and
on-time deliveries.
Mr. Taliaferro is a regular speaker on Supply Chain topics at various industry
trade shows and events in Latin America, including ABRAS and ABAD in Brazil,
ANSA in Venezuela, as well as Góndola and the ANDI Supply chain conferences
in Colombia. Mr. Taliaferro has a regular column titled, "Dr. Logistics"
