Equipment and Layout Analyst
KOM International is a firm of specialists in logistics studies and the design and implementation of warehousing and distribution systems throughout North and South America, as well as Europe and Asia.
The ideal candidate should be a CEGEP or technical school graduate, with experience in the use of AutoCAD 2000 and AutoCAD 14 and should have the following skills and personality traits:
During the first 6 to 12 months, some 90% of the workload is devoted to drafting work and learning our business. Afterward, 60% of the workload is devoted to drafting work. The remainder is spent dealing with facility and equipment related issues, such as research, preparation of requests for quotation for fixed (e.g. shelving, racks, etc.) and mobile (e.g. reach trucks, pallet jacks, etc.) equipment, analyzing proposals, doing on-site measurements of facilities, calculating building capacities, etc.
The successful candidate has to be creative and will be called upon to do conceptual layouts. When working on conceptual layouts, the designer may not always receive very precise instructions on what to do but, instead, will have to take basic requirements and create a design based upon these requirements.
