of this service requires Microsoft Explorer 5.5 or greater. This service
will not function properly if you are using Netscape.
FTP
POLICY STATEMENT
The
KOM International FTP site is a service provided to our clients upon request.
Authorized users are granted a temporary password to access KOM International's
FTP directories. An authorized user will be granted access to their own
authorized FTP directory only. No other directories will be visible to the
user.
In
the interests of security, passwords are temporary and will work for a limited
duration of time only.
When
a password expires, the user will be required to request a new password before
they will be able to log in again. All applications for passwords, and access
to KOM International's FTP site, must be authorized by KOM International.
Therefore, there may be a delay of 24 to 48 hours between an application for
a password and acceptance of the password. Passwords should not be shared
with other users in your company or with other companies or agents thereof.
If
you wish to use KOM International's FTP site to transfer data to/from KOM
International, please contact your KOM International representative to arrange
for an FTP upload/download directory on our site.
POLICIES:

Files existing on the FTP Site cannot be deleted or modified by the users
of the FTP site. Therefore, subsequent versions of the same file should
be given a separate name or version control number.
- KOM
International performs daily virus scans on the FTP site. However, as data
is uploaded and downloaded by our clients from their own systems, KOM International
is not responsible for the transference of viral files from one system to
another through our FTP site. In order to prevent this, no executable or
run-type files will be permitted on the site. KOM International will only
allow transfer of the following file types through the FTP site:
- AutoCAD
files of file extension types .DWG, .DXF
- "Flat"
ASCII text files of extension type .TXT
- Microsoft
Office Applications of the extension types .XLS, .DOC,
- PPT,
and .MDB.
- Adobe
print files of extension type .PDF
- Non-executable
Winzip files of the extension type .ZIP.
(Zip files are KOM International's recommended format for faster download
speeds)
- KOM
International recommends that you download only those files in your FTP
directory that you are expecting to find there. In other words, if files
appear that a KOM International representative has not indicated to you,
do not download these files. Similarly, KOM International will only access
those files which we have been notified to expect from our clientele.
- Although
KOM International has taken all steps to ensure the security of all files
on the FTP site, no file system with access to the Internet is 100% safe.
For security reasons, upload/download directories are cleared out frequently.
If you wait several days to download a file provided on KOM International's
FTP site, the file may no longer be there when you go to look for it. This
is done to preserve the confidentiality of our clients' information.
- Uploads
of materials of an offensive or inappropriate nature to KOM International's
FTP site may result in removal of FTP access.
